Question

When will Adobe InDesign include native scaling and measuring?

I've always wished InDesign included native scaling and measuring like Corel Draw does.

Here's an example:

In Corel Draw its easy to change your scale using this drawing scale window. That then allows you to measure things within your document according to the scale. The measure tool actually places measurements as well.

Its a really handy feature that I've never seen in InDesign, or any Adobe publishing / vector graphics editing program.

I'm wondering if something like this will ever be available in an Adobe product?

CorelDRAW is more akin to Illustrator than InDesign. Illustrator has a Dimension tool.

I tried using Illustrator and to me it is not more akin to CorelDRAW than Indesign is... there are no master layers or pages. For what I do with CorelDraw, Illustrator is not a better substitute than InDesign. The only thing InDesign lacks is a Dimensioning Tool. I'm wondering if InDesign will ever release a Dimensioning Tool like Illustrator has?

That's because Corel doesn't have any page-layout program so DRAW becomes (almost) the all-in-one program.

You just asked this question a month ago. I suspect it was you that made the feature request. Posting it multiple times in the community section isn't going to help.
