Are there free templates for InDesign? What does getting a template license mean? Is it expensive? How do you test a template and see if you like it.

StockLayouts offer several free templates for Adobe InDesign as well as over 2700 premium templates for purchase.

Download Free and Premium InDesign Templates

Try working with the free templates to see if they work for you before you purchase.

In addition to the free templates from Adobe Stock, premium members of InDesign Secrets can download free templates.

Hi Barbara,

In addition to what Jonathan has already mentioned, I am happy to inform you that we do provide free templates for Adobe InDesign and many other products under the Creative Cloud Membership.

Once you create a new document in InDesign, You get different presets for Print, Web and Mobile. Templates are available for every one of these presets. I have created a little GIF for you to understand things better:

Also, we have a service called Adobe Stock ( https://stock.adobe.com ) which you can try for InDesign templates.

If you go for annual plan, first month is free of cost and you get certain number of free templates to use. If you do not want to go for annual plan, you can check out other available options on https://stock.adobe.com/plans

You can also license them as per your project/work requirement. If you want to know more about licensing, you may click on https://stock.adobe.com/license-terms to know about them.

Hope this helps !!

Regards,

Ashutosh

Thank you for this information, but I have the Creative Cloud membership and the template library isn't showing up in InDesign--just the back blank forms.  Is there a link to download free templates for Indesign?  The Adobe stock collection is all for purchase.  Suggestions? The current installation of InDesign is up to date as of 10-20-2019 Thanks

Please don't tell us you are "up to date" because often problems come from updates that failed to install automatically. Please tell us your actual version numbers.

if you created a new document. you will see the dialog below. on the bottom it says "find more templates in adobe stock" search for what you are looking for and it will take you to the adobe stock site that matches your results. You may select one that you like the cost is different. there is a "view a preview" option where you can see it. Getting a license means you purchased it for personal or commercial used.
