Question

Why am I paying £65 per month when I can't use the software?

I was having trouble with Indesign crashing and it was suggested I deleted and re-uploaded the software. However, when I tried to do so I was told my computer was not compatible, why can't I just re-upload the same version of Indesign that worked before? Very frustrated at the moment as Adobe is still taking my £65 per month!

You have two choices right now and neither is good. Buy a new computer or cancel your subscription.

While you can ask, I doubt very much you're going find an installer for anything earlier than InDesign 2024 and even upgrading your O/S to one compatible with it is going leave you in a world of pain with 8GB or RAM and an old processor.

If funds are a problem, and you want to keep on using InDesign, you might benefit from looking at Windows machines or even building your own. Good luck.

What platform and OS?

Do you know what version has been installed previously?

And what is the specification of your computer?

Unfortunately, you can install only one previous Major version - so right now it would be 2024 / v. 19.5

Hi,

My iMac is old-is, it’s a 2017 21.5-inch running High Sierra 10.13.6, I realise it’s old but it was all working fine until it wasn’t.

I can’t afford to go out and spend money on a new computer at the moment and frankly I don’t see why I should have to.

I’ve been paying at least £60 per month for a number of years now, since not long after I bought the iMac new in 2017, so at a quick tot up that’s roughly £5,500 that I’ve given adobe thus far…

I don’t use the software that much and admittedly I have been lax in updating my Operating system, but if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Up until now that is…

I think I’ve paid enough money to Adobe to deserve a solution that suits me don’t you think?

Many thanks for your prompt reply

Andy

I'm not a Mac user - but can't you upgrade OS to something latest?

Although there is also hardware problem...

Most importantly - how much RAM do you have installed - and can you install more - replace / upgrade?

Not compatible? What are the specs on your computer?
