Why are Adobe Indesign and Photoshop sooooo slow?

In addition to the suggestions given by Derek, I'd request trying the troubleshooting steps suggested on this community post(https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign/resolve-slow-performance-and-unexpected-behavior-of-indesign/td-p/11487287?page=1) in order to improve the performance of the Adobe InDesign.

A few things to consider:

Are you using a third-party application such as a font manager?

How much free disk space do you have?

Have you tried resetting your application preferences?

Have you had your graphics card checked?

If the above doesn't help, consider uninstalling the applications using the Adobe Cleaner Tool and reinstalling them again.
