Question

Why are my OpenType font features not showing in InDesign?

I’m having trouble getting OpenType font features to appear in Adobe InDesign. Even though I'm using an OpenType font, options like stylistic sets, ligatures, and alternate characters seem to be missing or grayed out in the Character panel. I’ve checked my text settings, but nothing seems to fix it. Is there something else I need to enable, or could this be a font-specific issue?

Perhaps those properties are not a part of the font you're using.

Hi @Janesmith22,

I tested this on my end with an OpenType font activated from Adobe Fonts and the OpenType options were available in InDesign. Could you please share the font name you are using and where you sourced it from, so I can try and help check its supported features. It would also be great to follow the expert suggestion to confirm whether those properties are actually included in that specific font.

Let me know your findings.

Abhishek
