Question

Why are preflight errors enabled for hidden spreads?

Is there a way to disable this?

Obviously, if there is an error on a spread that is hidden, I probably don't care about it.

It's like they did ZERO user testing on this when they rolled out the "Hide Spread" functionality last year... and still haven't ironed it all out yet.

In addition to other suggestions, you can also post a feature request here:

Hi @intoagency,

I hope Jeffrey’s suggestion helped sort things out for you! If it did, please do take a moment to mark it as correct. It really helps others who might run into the same issue.

If you’re still facing the problem or have any updates, feel free to share them here.

Here is a workaround. Define a preflight profile that ignores elements assigned "Nonprinting". On the hidden spreads, select all and assign attribute with "Nonprinting". Hide spread. When preflight runs, it will ignore the hidden spreads.
