Why did my favorite InDesign turn out like this?

I don't know if it is just because my computer is a bit obsolete, maybe it' not compatible or what. Everytime I select an item - it will freeze and I have to wait for sometimes a minute before an item is selected and respond again. It refuses to move, and I can't even cancel it. Please help me - thanks all!
