Why does Indesign cc appear twice on my Creative Cloud update list? Do I update both? Delete one, if so, which one?

Not sure if this is related to why Indesign program has crashed several times tonight (as I am working on object styles and paragraph styles) and then asks to go through a "recovery" when I open it again.

I had been avoiding an upgrade from cc 2017 to cc 2018. When I ran the upgrade, my problem was solved.

And now I am doing some minor work on my file with a photo and most of the images on my screen have wiped out - why would this be?

You might have two versions of InDesign installed on your machine.

To trouble-shoot disappearing images, have you looked to see if the Links panel is up-to-date? Have you turned off GPU acceleration in the preferences? Have you attempted to zoom in and out a step to force the screen to re-draw? Have you checked preferences to see whether or not you are set to High Quality Display under display preferences? Set it 2 places from Typical to High Quality.
