Why does my text colour turn to grey over when placed an image?

On the words I have used a drop shadow and satin effect. Why does the text colour disappear and turn to grey? It will only show up in white and black, no other colours. My client really wants the names to be in a gold colour. Can someone tell me what I've done wrong?
