Hi. As a tackle the fonts in indesign I am left baffled why a font in an open document is there (and available in the font menu) yet if I place or copy it to a new document the font is now missing? If its in the font menu why is it also missing?

Thanks

Has the font been provided to you in a “Document fonts” folder in a packaged folder? If yes, the fonts included in this folder are available only for the packaged file.

Yes, InDesign will load the font in the Document font folder where the InDesign file is. Try saving the second document into the same folder. Or you can install the font for all documents, via the Ffont app or place the font into the InDesign's applciaton folder. There is a Fonts folder in the Application folder.

I meant the Font Book application.
