Hi all,

i have a 84 page document. i want to add some cross references but it's so extremely slow. I takes like 30 seconds to load the pop-up to add the cross refenrence. any ideas why this is so slow and what i can do to fix this?

thanks

That sounds too long a wait, even though everyone notes that doing cross-references is one of the slow-downs of InDesign.

Since the 20.1 version has so much buggies, have you considered rolling back to 20.0.1 to see if that changes the situation?

And of course, here is a link to a compendium of troubleshooting you can experiment with to see if anything helps:

Tell us about your InDesign version number.

And your operating system and number and patch?

Is your 84-pages flowing and threading throughout those 84 pages?

Are you using any complicated GREP formatting?

V 20.1

Sequoia 15.3

no text flow

No complicated grep.

Lots of textframes, lots of imageframes.
