Why would text move to next column here?

Hi @Charlie329572228uvx , Are you sure the frame you have selected isn’t sitting on top of the frame(s) containing the text? Check your Layers panel, which shows the selection—here you can see the selected text frame is on top of the frame with the text:

Impossible to say with the information provided. Poaring the page as a .indd file would be helpful.
