Question

Workspace no longer appears on document open

This appears to have started happening in one of the last updates,, but the when I open a doc with ID, there is no Workspace. I had previously created one specific to my needs with a unique name to try and solve this, but now checking it does nothing after the doc is opened. Only the default options open when checked, which then requires moving around elements to get back into my choice working mode.

It used to be simple, where ID remembered your Workspace and the same one opened on startup every time. You could change to one of the others, but you didn't have to pick one at startup as you appear to do now.

How I do I get it to behave as before?

Hi @grandsonofmrsnak:

You might try resetting preferences, and then reopen and choose the saved workspace. Close InDesign and reopen again and see if goes back to normal.

That does not work. It seems to be an issue with both the later ID and AI workspaces. Sometimes it shows, other times it shows nothing and I just need to go into the workspace menu to select something.

Known issue. If you're still experiencing it with the latest versions of InDesign and Ventura then no solution at this point, as far as I know:
