Wrong activation count in Adobe servers.

I am the Founding Music Director of a non profit orchestra. I use legally purchased CS6 (from Tech Soup) to create concert program booklets, brochures, etc. CS6 is installed on only ONE computer as I am one man with dozens of jobs, all needed to make Mozart come alive. Adobe customer service writes that I have reached the 2 computer limit. This is NOT correct and I am getting the run around, pointing me to this forum, where I have read that only Adobe people can help me directly. I need to have a backup system, ready to go, if I am close to the rehearsals or the concerts. There is only one working computer in my office. My main job is to make the music…

Here is what Adobe wrote: Thank you for contacting Adobe Customer Support.

I can provide the details of the one and only computer hosting CS6.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi @AP1756 remote resetting of activation count is not possible now. If you have something running on one computer I would keep it as is. I have seen reports where folks trying to deactivate on one computer were left with no reset and hence could not use it on any computer after that.

Hi @AP1756 , In case you are not aware, CS6 (2012) will not run on any new MacOS versions—the last Mac version it will run on is OSX Catalina, which was released in 2016. If you are trying to move CS6 to a new computer, that will not be possible

Unfortunately all of those people who told you that only Adobe can help were correct. Additionally, Adobe, as you’ve already learned probably won’t be able to help.

You’ve gotten 14 years out of that software and as you’ve already been advised, don’t modify the one machine you have that still works. In the mean time, you really do need to start looking as what to do going forward.

    Shalom Bob.

Actually, I still get the activation error upon startup BUT, InDesign runs fine there( Win 11,) my backup system. My work station is Win 10 running everything I need to run my orchestra.

That’s good news, but do keep in mind that it’s just a matter of time until things don’t work.
