Wrong font in paragraph style

Onc common source of font problems is using or editing the Basic Paragraph style in InDesign. This is a paragraph style you cannot delete, which is a shame. If you edit the style, use the style, or base any of your existing styles on Basic Paragraph you have fallen into a trap. Editing the style can have a huge efect on the appearance of text when you copy and paste from other InDesign files.

I don’t know if this is part of the problem, but it would be a good idea to make sure hte template, and all versions in use, do not use or refer to Basic Paragraph.

Randy is absolutely right!

You have to use the Google font files for Roboto.

Download them to your machine, disable Roboto with Adobe Fonts and either install the Google version with your system or create a Document fonts folder with the Roboto files in the same folder where your InDesign document is positioned that is using the Roboto font.

Important: Restart InDesign and open the document again.

InDesign will pick up the right Roboto fonts either from your system or from the Document fonts folder…

You may want to try the Google Fonts version of Roboto and see if you have the same issues.

Or, if you have both installed, as some posters who had problems previously have had, try reconciling font discrepancies with first the Google Fonts version, then the Adobe Fonts version and see which works best for you.
