Apple M1

Hello @Giddy_expert999d,

Thank you for sharing the details and sorry for the experience. As a first step, please update InDesign to the latest version, 21.6, through Creative Cloud Desktop > Apps > InDesign > Update, restart your Mac, and check whether the issue persists to rule out behavior specific to the older version.

If the issue continues, please create a new document and test the same text using the same font, 11.5Q size, black fill, and 0.5 mm white stroke. First check the text without any additional formatting, then test Ruby/Furigana and horizontal/vertical scaling separately. Please also try another Japanese font, reduce the stroke temporarily (for example, 0.2-0.3 mm), and compare GPU Preview with CPU Preview. Finally, export the affected page to PDF and check whether the overlap is also visible in the exported PDF.

If the issue still occurs, please share a short screen recording demonstrating the issue in action, preferably showing the InDesign version, font name, 11.5Q text with the 0.5 mm white stroke, and what happens when Ruby or character scaling is applied. If possible, please also share a sample INDD/IDML file where the issue can be reproduced.

Thank you, and I look forward to your findings.

Abhishek
