Just updated yesterday and now Lightroom crashes right after opening and trying to select anything!

I have unmarked those answers as correct.

Regarding your crashes:

They are unrelated non-descript crashes across multiple instances of CameraRaw.dll. That normally indicates an installation problem. A clean reinstall is the first diagnostic step.

Clean Lightroom Install Procedure

Close Lightroom
Restart the computer
Use the Adobe Creative Cloud App to uninstall Lightroom
Restart the computer
Install Lightroom via the Creative Cloud App without launching any other programs.
Restart the computer
Launch Lightroom
Wait 5 minutes

This is the dialog that pops up even if I just leave lightroom running. I can still use lightroom as long as I don't click any of the buttons on the dialog box.

That is the form for the Adobe crash report. You type in a bit about what you were doing before it pops up, you include your e-mail address, and you click on Send as to send it to Adobe.

I would not be at all surprised if an Adobe tech responds to your post that they have not received a crash report from you, and asking if you could.

If you fill it out, include a link to this discussion in that info.

While that GPU driver, is the latest, v546.17, it is a Game Ready driver, not a Studio driver, I can state that because at NVIDIA, the latest Studio version for that GPU is v546.01. NVIDIA recommends the better tested Studio drivers for creative work.

Wondering if something is wrong with the Game Ready driver. If you should desire to change that driver, make sure you select Custom install type as to force a clean install.

Now that being said, I think another me,bet had a issue on a rig with that GPU, and does have the Studio Driver. So this might not help.

The first thing that you should try is to switch off the GPU support from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps to fix the issue.

Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom.

Another step is to try to reset the Lightroom preferences.

Which version of Lightroom do you use?

Please post the exact version and not only phrases as "recent", "latest" and so on.

Please provide also a copy of your 'System Info'. This can be get from the LrC Help > System Info menu item. There's a copy button in the System Info dialog. Press this button and paste the info into your next forum post.

Is your system up-to-date? Do you have installed all recent updates and patches for the operating system and the device drivers, especially the graphic driver. If you have a NVidia graphic card installed, make sure that you are using the recent Studio version of the driver, not the Game Ready version.

so mine seemed to happen when I clicked on recent collection I created. I deleted the collection and so far lightrooom is working normally. Still appears to be a bug with latest update!
