500px.com Publish Service defunct (where to complain)

Hi all,

I use several Publish Services (PS) - several from jfriedl but also some provided by the destination site.  I use these to manage my images on various web sites including Image Rights, Facebook (business page), Flickr, Zenfolio (my personal web site), Instagram, and 500px.

Earlier this year, there was some sort of security issue at the 500px.com site that they rectified.  However, as part of the rectification they "depricated" (turned off or made unusable) their Lightroom Publish Service as well as the API that handled the web site end of the link.   I have contacted them and expressed my concern over no longer being able to manage my 500px images from Lightroom and that due to this i would not be renewing my 500px subscription when it is up near the end of the year.  They were very nice in responding to me and the customer service rep agreed to make my concern known to the development team and management.  However, I am just one person and we all know that one persons gripe doesn't hold much sway in such matters.  I have no idea if others have also complained, but the Customer Service rep seemed to be unaware of the issue even though it has been out of commission for several months.    So, either there aren't many  people making use of this publish service or others have chosen to not complain about it.

If you would like to add your voice, you can post a feature request here  https://500px.com/groups/500px-feature-requests.  to get it functional again and you can log a problem report that the Lightroom Classic Publish Service tool is no longer working here  https://support.500px.com/hc/en-us/requests/new  (or email help@500px.com)

thanks -- Dan

I had a somewhat similar experience (months ago now) Dan which included lost access for a few weeks.

It was sort rectified, but I had to install a third-party authenticator (SAASPASS) which I used for while but have just removed as it became a PITA.

I most likely will let my sub lapse in the near future as a result . . .

500px officially stopped supporting access by the LR plugin a year ago: https://support.500px.com/hc/en-us/articles/204728107-I-m-having-Lightroom-plugin-problems- .

Also, see this discussion in the official Adobe feedback forum: Lightroom: 500px plugin unsupported and no longer works with "Classic" at all | Photoshop Family Customer Community
