Activating Lightroom 6

I tried repeatedly to activate Lightroom 6 download.  I know I'm using the correct password because it works in my Adobe account.  And I have to sign in to open the application for the first time.  It keeps saying that the ID and password don't match.  I've reset it a number of times without success.  Please help.

    If you really have Lightroom 6, and not Lightroom CC 2015, then there is no password and there is no user ID. You only need your serial number, as explained here: How to convert a Lightroom CC trial to Lightroom 6

It's not letting me get past this point. It's saying I need this password and never asked for the code for activating it. Yes it is Lightroom 6. I downloaded it off Amazon early this morning.

    You have to sign OUT of Creative Cloud, not sign IN.
