Active and Reference View Sharpness

Question

Hi LR users,I've got a photo stacked image via the usual route of Lightroom(RAW)>Photoshop(tiff)>Lightroom and have noticed a discrepancy in the sharpness of the image. When I open a reference and active view plane I noticed that the new photo stacked image isn't as sharp as the separate four images that it is made from. I thought this due to being a .tiff, however, when I have the same photo selected in Active AND Reference view, the reference image is actually sharper than the active view. This, despite that it is the exact same image! Can anyone tell me why? As I need these shots sharp front to back. Many thanks.

You can also try to disable the GPU - Preferences > Performance > Uncheck Use graphics processor, and see if that makes a difference.

The image you see on screen in Ligthroom is a preview, not the original, and sometimes these previews do not appear sharp at magnifications other than 1:1. (like Fit view) Rendering 1:1 previews might help.

If you compare the two images at 1:1, you will probably find that they are equally sharp, in which case there is no need for concern.
