Active Lightroom 6 license - serial number revoked

Hi all,

I have tried installing my windows Lightroom 6 perpetual license onto a new computer and have recieved the message "The serial number you entered has been revoked. This product cannot be installed. Please contact customer support."

I have used this license for years on my old PC, but can't install it now. In speaking to Adobe customer support, they confirmed my license as active, but directed me here for a solution.

Can anyone assist me? Or is my 'active license' now doomed?

I am curious to know if you were able to have your S/N approved for you use again?

Just ran into the same issue last night.  Although I was not installing -- Received Unauthorized User error and given a 5-day window to correct. The pop ups continued, whether or not LR6.14 was running or not.

I Signed out from my account.  Uninstalled and did a reinstall.  The S/N was accepted on the Installation portion to the PC, but when it came time to Sign into the account, Adobe issued the Revoked/Blocked message and prevented the installtion from being completed.  Another attempt at the install resulted in the S/N not accepted at the initial stage on the PC, let along completing the process to allow an activation.

I did reach out to ChatSupport and provided proof of my original purchase/SN and am in a holding pattern.  In the meantime -- wanted to know if you (or anyone else) were succesful in completing the installation?

@loseseeker  You won't get it resolved unfortunately. All support for v6.14 has permanently ceased.

Your one course of action is to subscribe to the Photography Plan (20GB) and install Lightroom-Classic v13 that will upgrade your v6.14 catalog.

"The serial number you entered has been revoked."

I do not believe this message is about 'Activation'- althought that IS required for v6.

See the Adobe Help page here-

Only Customer Care could sort this out- you may have to try for an answer from several agents!

Lightroom 6 was the last version of the application that requires activation for it to function.

You are allowed 2 activated computers at any point in time. If there are two units currently activated you will need deactivate one unit so the new unit can be activated.

Support for Lightroom 6 ended towards the end of 2017 and users cannot activate or deactivate a unit online. It is now necessary to contact Adobe directly to have a unit or units deactivated if this is necessary.

Contact Adobe via chat or telephone and request deactivation assistance. When you contact Adobe be persistent and stress that you need assistance in deactivating any units that are no longer in use.

This is a user to user forum and other users do not have the authority to carry out that function.

You will need to supply your Adobe ID and License key during this process.
