Actual survey or did I get hacked?

I can't remember ever seeing something like this before, but while using Lightroom Classic (13.2) on Windows 10 just now I got this giant popup when I was about to sync some settings across a bunch of photos:

Is this normal? Or is my Lightroom comporomised? I did not click the Start Now button.

Thanks! Also apologies if this is not the correct coversation type.

This is a legitimate survey from Adobe. It is new, so folks might not have seen it yet.

Adobe does these quite regularly. Probably once every 1/2 year or so. They are legitimate. They do them both through popups in the apps as well as through email.

Thanks for clarifying that the survey request was legitimate.

I'm concerned, however, that the survey seemed to be obsessed with AI-based features (as it seems is Adobe), and barely touched on asset management or the many long-standing deficiencies in Adobe's metadata capabilities.

Did you do the entire survey? Quite a few of the AI features they asked about were asset management related (ex, an AI that locates and sorts all your HDR/pano sets, or auto detection of images with shake or missed focus)

AI is a big buzzword in the tech world right now, I wouldn't be surprised if the LR team is under orders from on high to implement more features that Adobe can point to their shareholders as them "leveraging AI". Honestly, some of the suggestions they had in that survey were a lot more useful than I was fearing we'd get from the LR team being pressured to do more AI stuff. I think my favorite proposal the survey threw out there was a neural net that would analyze how you cropped an image and apply a similar crop to a bunch of selected images. That would be a huge time saver for me on quite a few things if it worked well.

I have never seen Adobe offer Dollars for a survey chance!

I would consider it a scam.

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .

To be more clear, the reason why I'm suspicious of this popup was

  1. It seems a lot larger than things like the What's New window.
  2. The font seems larger than normal
  3. The font face seems different than normal compared to things like the Develop Module Tips or Masking Tips
  4. It popped up while I had the Synchronize Settings window open. It seems like an odd time to pop up a new window like that.

Surely, if it was from Adobe, they would know the difference between Lightroom and Lightroom Classic, wouldn't they? The survey should be about Lightroom Classic.

Perhaps we could get an answer about whether or not this is a scam from @Rikk Flohr: Photography
