Question

Add external storage space

I am a longtime user of Lightroom Classic. Historically when my main image drive approaches FULL, I buy a pair of larger external drives. One for images the second for backup. Currently the drives are 40 TB containing 200,000+ images. It has become financially difficult to buy 2 drives significantly larger than 40TB. Is it possible to "daisy chain" drives so that new images import into the new empty drive? For instance, can I add 2new 40TB drives, in effect making each 80TB?

Daisy chain is not needed. Just buy new drives (whatever the size) and connect them to your computer via USB port, so that the new drives and the old drives are all connected at the same time; and then instruct Lightroom Classic to import photos to the new drives. Everything works properly.

… and then instruct Lightroom Classic to import photos to the new drives. Everything works properly.

Clarification, should say “instruct Lightroom Classic to import NEW photos to the new drives. Everything works properly.”
