Question

"Adjust Overall Exposure" grayed out in Develop right-click menu when Auto Sync is off

Hello,

the “Adjust overall exposure” feature for multiple selected photos in the Develop-Module is suddenly grayed out / unavailable when I select
“Right-click > Develop settings > Adjust overall exposure”.

When I set “Auto-Synchronization” to ON, the grayed-out status disappears and the function becomes available again.

I only have this problem in the Develop-Module - and only when using “Right-click > Develop settings > Adjust overall exposure".

All other options work (without “Auto-Synchronization”):
- In the Develop-Module, “Settings > Adjust overall exposure” works.
- In the Library-Module, “Photo > Development Settings > Adjust overall exposure” works.
- “Ctrl + Alt + Shift + M” in the Develop-Module works.
- “Ctrl + Alt + Shift + M” in the Library-Module works.

As I mentioned, only in the Develop-Module the “Adjust overall exposure” function suddenly is grayed out / unavailable under “Right-click > Develop Settings” and only works after enabling Auto Sync.

I didn’t have this problem before updating to LRC 15.3.
Because other Lightroom users have already been able to reproduce this behavior, I assume that this is a bug.

Best regards

Mike

Unfortunately I can’t help but wanted to say I’m experiencing the same behavior. Some things will auto-sync but most will not. I can auto-sync resetting crops but not applying crops, I’m not seeing any develop adjustments auto-syncing. LrC 15.3

    Adobe is investigating this.

Since the update to Lightroom Classic 15.3, the Match Total Exposures command is greyed out and can’t be clicked or used via the shortcut when in Compare or Survey modes. This slows me down greatly because I use it a lot in my workflow to get a similar exposure between selected photos while comparing and sorting them. Having to switch back to Grid view to use Ctrl-Alt-Shift-M is far from ideal.

Any reason why this command was suddenly disabled?

Hey, @Marina2986136113am. Welcome to the Lightroom Classic Community. I'll help you figure this out.

In my quick attempts to recreate this, Lightroom behaved as expected. I worked through a collection and enabled Auto-Sync with sequenced images and separate selections.

Could you reselect the files and ensure that the Auto Sync switch is enabled? If it's not activated, click on it to enable Auto Sync mode. Also, it'll help if you record a video showing the steps to repeat the reported behavior.

    Thanks!

    Hi @Sameer K

    thanks for your reply.

I recorded a short video demonstrating the issue.

Auto Sync is enabled and working partially:

    • Presets are applied to all selected images

    However:

    • Basic Develop sliders (Exposure, White Balance, etc.) affect only the active image

So Auto Sync is clearly active, but Develop parameter changes are not synchronized.

    Thanks!

Lightroom Classic 15.3 on Mac. Auto Sync is enabled and working for Profiles, Presets and Denoise across multiple selected images. However Basic Develop sliders (Exposure, White Balance, Contrast etc.) affect only the first/active image. Preferences reset, catalog optimization and restart did not fix it.
Seems like a bug affecting Develop parameter synchronization.

I can confirm this is happening on my Mac with LrC15.3. This should be considered a BUG as it works correctly using the other methods and using AutoSync should not be necessary

Thanks for bringing this up, @Mike_Mueller, and @Bob Somrak for verifying this. I’ve shared this with the team for review. Will add more details soon.

    Thanks!
