Adjustment brush only shows in navigation..

The adjustment brush only shows in navigation until I hit the done button...then it shows on the main image.  I just updated to the latest LRCC and that it when the problem started. I saw a previous forum discussion that said to optimize the catalogue and to disable GPU from the Preferences.  I did that and nothing changed.  I have used LR for 10 years and never had this happen before.  Please help....Jean
