Adobe Lightroom Classic and Lightroom CC both freezing/turning white and showing "Not Responding" during basic use (browsing photos, editing sliders, zooming). Started on or around 28-Apr-2026. I have used Lightroom CC for 11 months, and this is the first time it has acted up this bad. I have written my hardware and everything i attempted to do to fix this issue.

System:

  • AMD Ryzen 5 5500, 32GB RAM
  • Patriot M.2 P300 512GB SSD
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060
  • Windows 11 Pro, dual monitors (2560x1440 + 1680x1050)
  • Lightroom version 9.3 (April 2026)

Everything attempted:

  1. Checked Task Manager - ruled out RAM/CPU/disk pressure
  2. Turned off GPU acceleration in Lightroom preferences - no fix
  3. Changed sync settings - no fix
  4. Signed out and back into Adobe account - no fix
  5. Ran Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool (full clean) - no fix
  6. Deleted Lightroom cache and reduced it from 93GB to 25GB - no fix
  7. Uninstalled Windows updates KB5082417 and KB5083769 (installed 15-Apr) - no fix
  8. Rolled back Nvidia driver - slight improvement but no fix
  9. Deleted FolderSourcePreviews cache - no fix
  10. Booted into Safe Mode, ran DDU for a complete clean Nvidia driver wipe
  11. Installed fresh Nvidia Studio Driver (optimized for creative apps) - no fix

This appears to be a compatibility bug between Adobe Lightroom and the RTX 5060 GPU. Lightroom possibly isn’t yet been fully optimized for it. Every hardware and software variable was ruled out, the issue hopefully is on Adobe's end and requires an update from them.

Please explain how you came to this conclusion. I have an NVidia RTX 5060, no similar problems with LrC (I don’t use Lr).

Please check to make sure your GPU driver is a Studio driver and not a Game-Ready driver. Please check; don’t just simply say you think it is a Studio driver.

Please try resetting preferences. For LrC: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/

Please check to see if your motherboard has a built in GPU (that would be a second GPU along with your 5060). If it does have a built in GPU, please disable it.

If none of the above helps, please go to Help->System Info and copy and paste the information there into your reply.
