This is super annoying, however upon editing in Adobe Lightroom Classic 11.0.1 this is an issue I'm facing. I'm wondering if any of you have found a solution to this.

SPECS: Mac OSX 10.15.7

Let me know. Thanks in advance!

Due to the timecrunch and deadline, I got the original files from the hard drive and transferred it to a brand new hard drive. Opened a new Lightroom Catalog from there and just Re-Edited the entire thing. It was the only way. Seems as if the entire catalog itself was corrupted.

Everything from optimizing catalog and restarting with option, command, P+R, adjusting AdobeRGB, sRGB, ProPhotoRGB, creating virtual copies, re-editing within the same catalog did NOT work.

Seems that there's a glitch within the new Adobe Lightroom that won't fix this. Beware.

Re-Edited the entire set on a brand new hard drive on a brand new lightroom catalog fixed the situation.

I wonder if you just built new previews (which would automatically occur if you created a new album) would that have solved the problem? But I agree it does seem weird, because zooming in and out shouldn't toggle back and forth - once a preview is updated, that new view should be used and you shouldn't see the old one any more.

D you have the GPU enabled? I would try disabling it to see if the behavior goes away.
