Using your Windows File Explorer, bring up the folder that your catalog is in, and take a screenshot of that. Please share that screenshot in a reply. Thinking about a long shot, but..

There is no Lightroom catalog on a freshly installed Windows 10/11! I can't even start Lightroom Classic, so where is a catalog supposed to come from?

Hold the Ctrl key down and double-click on the LrC icon. A dialog box will appear and you should select "Create New Catalog". Does that work?

I have the same problem. After trying many unsuccessful tips from the internet, I completely reinstalled Windows 10. Then I first downloaded and installed the Adobe Cloud software with Edge. Then I installed Lightroom Classic—and got the exact same error again. Then I completely reinstalled Windows 11, etc., and got the same error again. So, with two Windows installations where nothing except Adobe Cloud is installed, Lightroom Classic does not start. I am therefore certain that I cannot fix the problem. For me, the cause of the malfunction clearly lies with Adobe. I did not have such problems up to version 15.

Any other solution? Maybe, but try opening a recent backup copy of your catalog first.

Hi @Sheikh_Muzain5865

Thanks for sharing the details, and sorry to hear you’re running into this. Since Lightroom Classic isn’t launching even after a clean reinstall, we’ll need a bit more information to narrow this down.

Could you please share:

  • Your Lightroom Classic version (as shown in Creative Cloud Desktop)

  • The exact behavior when you try to launch Lightroom Classic (nothing happens, splash screen appears and closes, error message, etc.)

  • Whether Lightroom Classic opens when Windows is started in Safe Mode
    https://adobe.ly/4pMmjJo

  • Any recent Windows or driver updates installed around the time the issue started

In the meantime, please try the following steps if you haven’t already:

  • Right-click the Lightroom Classic shortcut and choose Run as administrator.
  • Make sure your NVIDIA RTX 4050 driver is updated directly from NVIDIA’s website (not via Windows Update). Restart your system after updating.
  • Temporarily disable third-party antivirus software. Some security software can prevent Lightroom Classic from launching. Disable it temporarily and test.
  • Update Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables. Please install the latest supported versions from here:

Once you share the details above, we’ll be happy to look into this further and help you resolve the issue.

Srishti

the version till now was 15.0.1 , i even tried updating to the latest one , i have tried the above mentioned steps but still it doesnt open , the exact behaviour is that i double click it or right click and run as an administrator but then nothing happens , initially it used to run in the task manager in the background process but now it shows up on the task manager for a split second then closes, drivers are stable as well . no issue there
