Looking for some advice regarding the best way to approach upgrading and moving to a new PC.
I have Lightroom 5 on a Win 10 PC.
I have a new Win 11 PC and have decided to move to Lightroom Classic.
What is the best way to approach the upgrade & move ?
Do I upgrade then migrate ? Do I install Classic on the new PC then just transfer the catalogue? .....??
Any advice orguidance would be much appreciated.

Do NOT combine the two steps. Install LrC on the old computer and then upgrade the Lr 5 catalog to LrC on the old computer, there is no importing of photos in this step.
Once that is clearly working properly then you can move LrC to a new computer.
Follow these instructions to move to a new computer. Do not make up steps; do not skip steps (except for the part about moving Windows to Mac which doesn't apply to you). There is no importing of photos in this step either. Some people get mixed up and confused to the point where they really really really feel like it is necessary to import photos — if you get to that point, stop and please re-read the previous sentence.
