Question

After export, photos look different on phone / laptop screen

If I'm satisfied with my photo after editing it in Lightroom Classic, I export the photo. The photo looks fine on my laptop, but if I download it on my phone the colors are way different. Like truly different. Brighter etc. Does anyone know how to export my photo so it will look the same on my phone as on my laptop? Thanks!

Hi Mariekedenhartog,

The image from your computer might be Adobe RGB and the phone screen shows the colors in sRGB. Also, the output color depends on too many variables: embedded profile, color management engine of the device, choosen profile on the devices, correct calibration of the device.

Could you please take a look at this similar discussionWhy do photos on my phone look different from my computer?  and let us know if that helps?

Thanks,

Akash

Colours should look the same when you are working in a colour managed environment. Phones and tablets are known to "enhance" pictures so that colours are more saturated on such devices. I do not think that there is much you can do.

You can always specify your phone model, may be someone knows a solution for that specific phone.
