After importing from my MacBook Pro, my photos doubled with some floors showing multiple images. Help

Further I initially had around 160,000 photos; now I have 390,000 photos.How did this happen and how can it be repaired??

What software are you using? What version NUMBER? (We need the version NUMBER and not words like “latest” or “up-to-date”)

Where does the number 160,000 come from? How did you determine this?

Did you possibly import photos more than once?
