After Tahoe update I can't open Lightroom Classic RAW files in Photoshop as layers

After updating my MacPro to Tahoe 26.0.1 a day ago, I can't open Lightroom Classic RAW files in Photoshop as layers to perform focus stacking. I found a manual work around but am so bummed! I spend a lot of time in the studio shooting closeups of gemstones and jewelry. This is really a setback. But it seems to be the ONLY thing I've discovered that doesn't work. A painful one, nevertheless. Does anyone have any similar experience or fix?

Hello Alek!
Thanks for reaching out to me. Here is more information, which you
requested, about my problem. I believe I am using all of the most recent
versions of adobe products.
Ps version 26.11.0
LrC version 14.5.1
Camera RAW version 17.5
macOS version Tahoe 26.0.1

When I try using either the right-click or the menu command to Open as
Layers in Photoshop, Photoshop opens to the dashboard screen (buttons for
New File, Open File, shows recently opened files). It won't open the files
in the application by itself.

I found out the following work around, which you might find interesting and
maybe you'll glean some clues from it:
I start by opening Ps and click Open File. In the dialog box I select all
of the files I want to focus stack and click Open. They all open in Camera
Raw. I scroll through all of the files and do nothing to them, then click
Done. THEN I can select the files in LrC and use either command to "open as
layers in Photoshop" and they all open as they should, as layers in Ps.
THEN, when I'm ready to SAVE my file, I click File, Save and get the
following error message: "Could not save "filename" because of a disk
error". I click OK. I then click on File, close. It asks me if I want to
save the file and I click SAVE. It gives me a finder dialog box where I
choose my save location and Save, and it saves the file! LrC then brings
the file in, just like it should.

It seems there is a file management issue. I went to my MacPro settings,
Privacy and Security, Files and Folders, to ensure that Ps and LrC have
access to all available. It's weird that LrC has access to: Desktop Folder,
Documents Folder, Downloads Folder, Network Volumes, Removable Volumes and
OneDrive, while Ps only has two options: Desktop Folder, Documents Folder.
Everything available is turned on for both applications, but I'm wondering
why Ps wouldn't even have the options for Removable volumes or Network
volumes? I store all of my RAW files on a USB Raid Drive attached to my
Mac. Incidentally, Camera Raw isn't even in the list of applications
needing access to files and folders.

I hope you gain some insight into this issue, which can help all of us
early birds who upgraded to Tahoe prematurely. Thanks again for your help,

Hi @Renee Crum, welcome to the community!
Could you share a few more details about the issue you're experiencing? What versions of Lightroom Classic and Photoshop are you currently using? Are you getting an error message when trying to open a RAW file as a layer in Photoshop, or is the option greyed out? Also, does the same thing happen when you use the "Edit in Photoshop" command?

If you're not using the latest version of either app, updating both Photoshop and Lightroom Classic might help. Sometimes a fresh reinstall can also resolve unexpected issues.
