After Updating to 2015.12 LR freezes When Importing

Everything was working fine with Lightroom for the past year and a half until I decided to install the latest update to LR CC.  Now, every time I try to import my pictures, it stops at about 90 pictures (out of maybe 140 designated for import).  I have to go thru the whole process of choosing the pictures to import and then having the same frustrating experience all over again. It's happened three times in a row.  I am working on a Macbook Pro (mid2009macbookpro with 8GB RAM)

running OS X El Capitan version 10.11.6.

Was working fine until I updated to LR 2015.12.  Is anybody else having a similar problem with this latest update?  Any fix for this or is there some way I can revert to previous version?  Thanks in advance for any help!!

    Hi philk,

Does Lightroom only freezes while importing directly from the camera or the card?

Do you have other devices like mobile/tablet connected while importing? Are there videos in the folder you're importing from?

    Thanks,
