AI Denoise fails in 14.2 (Mac)

The first time I used Lightroom Classic 14.2 (Mac), AI Denoise failed and kept failing after my first couple of uses. It appears to be processing normally with the doodad spinning for the predicted amounmt of time, but no new DNG is created and the Develop window is empty with no image selected and the previous adjustment I made to the image are all lost. I restarted the program to try to clear the issue, but that didn't help. I'm working with Nikon Raw (NEF) images.

Because I shoot a lot of indoor school sports, I'm going to need to try reverting to the previous version, but being about a third of the way through 1,300+ images that I have to select and submit by tomorrow morning, I'm not going to have the time to try that tonight.

Check that you do not have an active filter, or are in a smart collection, that filters out the incoming DNG file. You would not be the first one and the empty screen in the Develop module suggests that this is what is happening. The denoised DNG is not a raw file, so if you filter on raw files, this is what will happen. The DNG is created after all, but it doesn't show because it doesn't fit the criteria of the filter or the smart collection.

That may have been it. Thank you @JohanElzenga. I wasn't aware of that. I was using filters a lot last night to manage this large shoot, often toggling between Flagged and Unflagged. I may have been using Unflagged instead of Filters off. I went in and tried it again this morning and it is working correctly with Filters Off. I will flag your reply as the correct one.

Thanks!

Ric

One off-topic note on something I discovered last night. If the caps lock key is down, flagging, rating, or labeling an image in the film strip will automatically advance to the next image. (I have a new keyboard and am always hitting caps lock by mistake.) I was tired and it took me a while to figure out why it was doing that.
