AI Denoise with Nikon Z8 NEF files not working

AI denoise doesn't appear to be working for me for Nikon Z8 NEF files in Lightroom Classic. I'm attempting to denoise before any other editing of the files. The Enhance Preview shows "Loading" but never actually loads.   If I click Enhance I get an error message "There was an unknown error. (1)"  I'm using the latest version 12.3 and Camera Raw 15.3.1.  PC with Windows 10.  I have been successfully using AI Denoise with Z6 NEF files no problem.

 

I also don't seem to be getting the option for Auto Tone corrections (although shift double-click on each slider auto-corrects).

 

Is this just a case of waiting for a further update for a new camera or is it something more sinister?
