Hi everyone, i'm just a student and i'm learning about image processing. I really know the main algorithms in sharpening and noise reduction.

    Anyhow, I suspect you wouldn't get any information about the Adobe "secrets" in image processing anyway.

    The global sharpening in LR's Detail panel is a blend of Unsharp Mask Sharpening and Deconvolution Sharpening (use Google to research those terms). The blend proportions are set by the Detail slider with half and half at 50, all USM at 0 and all Decon at 100. Sharpening in the Local Adjustment menus uses whatever sharpening parameters are set for global sharpening with the Amount increased or decreased by a given percentage.
