All import options have disappeared

Hi, i have 2 issues that both occured at the same time. 

1. All the import options in the file drop down menu and import button at the bottom of the app have disappeared. 

2. When i try to switch over to the develop module, i get an error message...an error accurred when atempting to change modules.

Anyone know of these issuea nd how to resolve the? Ive uninstalled and reissded the lasted version of LRC . Made no difference.
