All Keyboard Shortcuts are Grayed Out in Lightroom

Hello

I am using LR Classic (Version 13.0.1) on a Mac Mini with M2 silicon and OS Sonoma 14.1 and all the keyboard shortcuts are grayed out and do not work I have seen in older threads that this can occurs when using Smart Previews but I am not using these.

Is this a bug or a settings issue. If the latter how do I fix it?

I am adding some screen shots of the examples

Thanks

Correct answer johnrellis

Keyboard shortcuts are always displayed in light grey on Mac, so that's unrelated  to your issue.

Can you provide a particular shortcut that's not working for you, so we have something concrete to start troubleshooting with? Along with the shortcut, please provide a full-resolution screenshot of the ENTIRE LR window -- that often can provide important context and clues.

Thanks John for your quick relpy.

I had never noticed that the Shortcuts were in grey until I was having the "issue" and so thought that they were unavailable, thanks for highlighting that for me.

Regarding the issue, the shortcut I was having trouble with was "Add to target collection" which is B. It didn't seem to function but using the dropdown menu was fine using the mouse. After sending the initial post I turned the PC off and left it until the following day. At that point it seemed to be working fine.

Why I had the issue in the first place is bit of a mystery but I am assuming it was something I was doing wrong somewhere.

If it pops up again I'll add to this threaad but I feel it is unlikely.

Thanks again for your help.

Brendan

"I turned the PC off and left it until the following day. At that point it seemed to be working fine."

Unfortunately, over the years there have been many reports of flakiness in the LR UI cured by restarting the computer.
