All my edits disappeared when moving my lightroom to new computer.

Question

Hello and apologies if this is redundant,

First things first Im not very tech savvy.

Heres what happened:

I had Lighroom set up on my Macbook Pro, all my files were kept on an external hard drive.

I bought a PC. I completely copied my pre-existing external hard drive on to my new internal hard drive.

I then imported all my photos again from the new hard drive.

Why are none of my edits there and how do I fix this?

Your edits are stored in you LR database file (*.lrcat) and possibly also in the XML sidecar files. When you move your image files they are the unedited images. You need to move you LR database file from your Mac to your PC and then in the Library module connect the files to their new location.
