All my LRC edits seem to have disappeared?!

Hi

I am an infrequent user of LRC and still struggling to get to grips with it. I uploaded a bunch of photos in Dec 2024, did some preliminary edits on them and just came back to do some further adjustments. However, I was horrified to find that EVERY SINGLE edit on EVERY SINGLE photo in my LRC seems to have disappeared. There don't seem to be any issues with LRC finding each image so I don't understand where the edits have gone. Would appreciate some help! Thanks in advance!!

Hi @dj_paige I went through my backups and found an old lrcat file that contains some edits (hopefully all ...) - however, I get the "File not found" message. I somehow seem to have one catalog that knows where the files are but not what was done to them and another that knows what the edits were but not where the files are!

Yes, I suspected as much, there are 2 versions of the photo, in 2 different catalogs, only one catalog has the edits. 

 

Using the catalog with the edits, you need to point the photos (or folders) to the present location of the actual photo files. Instructions with screen captures here: http://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm

So please describe step-by-step what you did when you came back to do some further adjustments.

 

Please show us a screen capture of the Develop Module with the History Panel on the left expanded. Use the "Insert Photos" icon to include screen capture in your reply. Do NOT attach files.

Hi @dj_paige 

I just opened up LRC (v14.3.1) and went into the 'Develop' module. Below is a screenshot of one photo that I had previously edited

The only edit in the History pane is the date on which I loaded the file - all other Develop settings are gone. I have also lost the ratings given to each image and some of the most rcent panoramas I created

The photo was imported on March 1, 2025 and no edits have been made to it. If you are sure you made edits, they may be in another catalog; or you imported the photo into this current catalog more than once, and you need to find the other copy (the copy with the edits) in your current LrC catalog.
