All photos gone

Hi, I hope someone can help. I opened Lightroom and I had been working on photos the day before. Lightroom came up with I needed to create a new file click on below. I did this and all photos and library have gone. I have nothing. I have tried to open a catalog but nothing happens. I have lost a lot of phptos, Can anyone help please.

When you say you created a "new file" I assume you mean you created a new LrC catalog.  In that case you need to find the catalog file you were using before and open it.  If you are running Windows, it is probably in the Lightroom folder inside the Pictures folder.  If you open LrC and pull down the File menu, then click "Open  Recent" you should see a list of recently opened LrC catalogs.  The one you were using before should be in the list. 

 

Your photo files should be where they aways were.   They are not stored inside LrC.

Thank you I have tried this and there is nothing there at all. No photos
in the library not a thing. It is like starting the first time. All
presets have gone. There is nothing.

You tried "this"?  There is nothing "there"?

What exactly did you try?
