All presets missing after latest upgrade

Upgraded recently to latest LR Classic, now all my Import (copyright), Develop and Export presets are gone except LR defaults - none that I downloaded and installed or User remain!

I had them stored w/my catalog on the external drive  - they were completely wiped out.

Had them backed up to Carbonite but are also deleted from there - must have been deleted more than 30 days ago...

Luckily I found them also stored in the default User>me>AppData>roaming>Adobe>LR folder and restored them from there. Probably stored there before I set the preference to store w/the catalog...

Any idea why they were deleted?

    If you upgraded from a previous version of LR, LR CC 2015 or earlier, when LR Classic CC did the catalog upgrade they got wiped out.

    Bug, probably.

    I never store presets with the catalog so I've never had this problem.

    If you use that external on more then one computer so you always have access to your images and the catalog I can see why you chose that option. But it isn't that hard to just copy over your presets to the external and then onto the other computer as needed.

    Good point to copy from the external to each system's preset folder - the trick is to remember to do so when I get a new system!

    Luckily as I said, mine were in there from before I saved them to the catalog so I could copy them - whew!
