Another LR Classic CC GPU acceleration not working

Hi All,

I have been looking for an answer for this query for some time now, but I can't seem to find the right answer (other than updating Geforce drivers to latest, which it it ( version 436.30 - releasedate of 09/10/2019)).  My GPU is a GTX770, and should be fully supported, as stated in various posts from Adobe, yet I only get the basic acceleration to turn on, not the image processing.

Hope someone can help to sort this out!

One item to check, and apparently this might change how Lightroom Classic views your GPU. A possible  modification of the NVIDIA settings for your GPU. This via the NVIDIA controller panel. Can both improve performance and perhaps get Lightroom to work with the GPU.

    See: https://www.winhelp.info/boost-lightroom-performance-on-systems-with-nvidia-graphics-chip.html

Thanks a lot for taking the time to write, David! I have checked the link (which at first was not accessible due to a VPN - strange). I have changed the powersetting in the GeForce Control Panel, but sadly, the option to use GPU in LR for image editing, is still greyed out. 😞 I have the latest Nvidia Drivers installed, so not sure what is going on.. Should I contact help services on this?

Do not conflate Adobe stated system requirements, or better stated minimum system requirements, with optimal system requirements. The minimum system requirements will allow LRC to operate but may not provide all features to work. Use of GPU acceleration is defiantly one of those.

If you are not using a 4 or 5K high-resolution monitor then it's unlikely you will experience any noticeable improvement in performance with the GPU activated.   If this is the case then you should not be concerned.

Thank you for your reply. I am not currently using a 4k/5k monitor on my desktop. But Adobe recommends the GTX 770 series.

Adobe states on the site : NVIDIA: For NVIDIA cards, consider using a card from the GeForce GTX 760+ line (760, 770, 780, or later) or from the GeForce GTX 900 series.

So this should be active.. WIN10 is updated to the latest drivers, so is the GPU, and yet, LR is still not letting me turn on the acceleration. I paid a lot of money to spec the machine well and want to be able to use "all of its power".  I have been using Lightroom ever since Lightroom v1.0 came out and have bought the version thereafter as soon as they came out. So I know there are a lot of flaws as well, but this isn't one I can live with.. The GPU card should be supported!
