Question

Anyone notice LRC hangups and slowdowns recently?

All the since the previous LRC update I have noticed my LRC generally misbehaving.  Its slowed down, lags, and generally mishbehaving.  I have tried adding my catalog and previews to a flash external drive, I have tried rebuilding the catalog, I have tried different configurations for the graphics card etc.  But its getting pretty old now not having a consitent software tool.  I need to count on the speed and efficieny of LRC.  For example I will select an image with edits and paste the previous version edits to the selected photo and the button depresses but nothing happens.  Its like the system ignores the selection.  I  will repress the button and then it works after a lag.  This phantom issue is not consistent and can be with several LRC features.  The catalog scrolls smoothly but the edits and various features are laggy or require a second selection.  I have stopped sync and tried lots of different trouble shooting ideas.

Anyone else having similar issues???

Could you give a few more examples? It seems like your original message implied that there were a lot of things that are problems.

Hey, @CLPSRQ. Thanks for bringing this up. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.  Please share the system info from Lightroom Classic from Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.

Does this happen with freshly imported images or after you've applied specific edits to the image, such as Lens Corrections, Denoise, and Masks?

  • Monitor the Activity Monitor for any unexpected read-and-write operations.
  • Go to Lightroom Classic > Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor > Set it off if it is on Custom or Auto. If this shows any differences, please check this article to troubleshoot further: https://adobe.ly/3uYiJo4.
  • Check this detailed response from our Expert: https://adobe.ly/4g6Cb4j

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!
