Aperture Import in LrC 12.2 Not Working

Question

Unable to import Aperture Library into Adobe Lr Classic, I followed all the steps outlined by Adobe and Apple, I read all forums and comments, I get the Import link grayed out no matter what I change, LrLog shows Lr failed locate disk, master files, etc. I am using; 1) the lates MacBook Pro 14 M2 chip with Ventura 13.2.1 OS, 2) the latest Adobe software LrC 12.2 and trying to import Aperture Library from another Mac running Aperture 2.1.4

I went through many posted similar issues, unresolved, I have tried all possible combinations including moving the library and referenced files into the new mac, also tried this combination while this mac is connected to the other mac while its running the same Aperture software with the same version - the results have alsways been failure to recognize Aperture Library, disk or contents by LrC as per the LrC Log file.

I have tried contacting Adobe tech support, customer service, only way to do it through Chat, tried the chat few times, waited up to an hour after posting my issue, NO AGENT responded, honostly this is becoming a waste of my time and resources and a disaapointment of Adobe's customer service level, something I never experienced before with many other big companies.

I am wondering at this junction if this Import Plug In in LrC works at all, the main reason for my joining Adobe this time was to use Lr and import my Aperture albums and work.

I am wondering if any of you may shed a light on the current status of this issue, any feedback is appreciated.

The built-in Aperture/iPhoto Plugin has always been very buggy, and Adobe has never acknowledged the bugs, much less fixed them. Besides the greyed-out Import problem, the plugin will choke on Aperture libraries with more than a few thousand files, it can easily get hung up on "poison" files, it can mangle metadata, ...

You could use the manual ("old") migration method described here:

or you could use the Avalanche program, which will preserve all your metadata and edits. Lots of posts in the LR forums from satisfied users, and their support appears very responsive. Compared to the manual method, Avalanche will translate Aperture edits into LR Develop settings.
