I used Aperture for years, probably have 300+K photos in libraries.  Mostly JPEG's but a lot of RAW too.   Switched to Lightroom but the Aperture photos are not in Lightroom.  Am I sitting on a time bomb in that  I wont be able to at minimum export my old pictures.  I would like to reprocess self them at photo editing has grown over the last 20 years.  At minimum use face recognition...  Recommendations on what to do

    hello.

We are a startup working on a migration utility between photo cataloging applications and we will release an Aperture -> Lightroom utility in the coming weeks that will : - migrate all the metadata as well as all the organisational structure of your Aperture catalogs, - migrate all your tags, keywords, faces and most importantly - try to do its best in migrating all your edits (geometry, exposure, color adjustments) in order to get inside LR, perceptually identical images. It is *not* a LR plugin and runs natively and very quickly.

I don't understand the relationship of "time bomb" to the previous sentences, nor do I really understand what you mean by "time bomb". Could you please clarify?

    Recommendations on what to do

Awaiting clarification and a more complete description of your problem.
