Apple Mail server w/o opening Mail?

I am moving Lightroom over to a new computer.

I had it set up so when I email from LR it would use the apple smtp server and not open up Mac Mail to deliver the photos. I dont use Mac Mail as my default client, so I would like to avoid this behavior.

I copied all the setting over to my new computer, validated the apple mail account, but when I send mail from LR, it still opens up Mac Mail? Can someone point to any reason why this might be?
