Applying Leica Q3's "embedded" to the profile project yields very strange colors

在lightroom中,於描述檔項目套用Leica Q3的"嵌入",得到很奇怪的顏色。

但Leica Q3 43mm則沒這個問題。

Correct answer Aleke

Hi @Aleke , just wanted to check in and ask if you guys were able to find anything with the files I shared?

Hi @Sonny Ty, thanks so much for your patience, and sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

I checked in with the Camera Raw team, and it turns out we don’t have control over the embedded profile color mapping. That part comes directly from Leica, so any changes you’re seeing in the embedded profile would have been made on their end.

Really appreciate your understanding, and please let us know if there's anything else we can help with.

Hi @Elton feng! Welcome to the community!

Could you share a few more details about the issue you're seeing? Knowing which version of Lightroom you're using would be super helpful. And if you’re able to post a couple of screenshots showing the unusual colors and what you were expecting instead, that would really help us get a clearer idea of what’s going on.

Thanks a lot!
Alek

Hi @Aleke ,

I am piggy backing off this thread as this is the closest description that I have seen so far to an issue that I am also facing (and it may be the same one as the OP is having).

I've noticed the white balance, when switching over from the Adobe Color to the Embedded, behave very strangely.  Specifically the white balance temperature and tint drastically changes and causes overly saturated colours to be applied to the pictures.  I've attached Before and After screenshots showing the strange behaviour I've noticed.

The Before picture shows the photo with no edits and the Adobe Color profile being used.  The WB temperarture and tint shows 5,500 and +18.  The colours in the picture seem quite normal as well for a RAW file with the Adobe Color profile applied.  The After picture shows the photo with no edits but with the Embedded profile being used.  The WB temperature and tint then shows 14,750 and -22.  This is very strange to me as the temperature and tint values look wildly inaccurate to what is being shown in the picutre, and not only that, the picture now also looks to be overly saturated specifically the blues which is strange cause the temperature is showing to be on the warmer side.

My Leica Q3 firmware version is 3.1.1 and my LrC version is 14.4.  I started noticing this issue appear in December 2024 when I updated both my Leica Q3 firmware to 3.0 and LrC version (I can't remember which version of LrC it was updated to in December 2024).  Prior to December 2024, the change from Adobe Color to Embedded profile behaved normally with only slight changes to the WB, colour saturation and contrast being applied to the photo.  I've gotten in touch with Leica and they've informed me the issue I am seeing has nothing to do with the Q3 firmware updates and that LrC is just not compatible yet with the Q3 Embedded profile.  However, this does not explain why I was not seeing this issue prior to December 2024.

So any insight and help on finding out what may be causing this behaviour would be great.  Thanks!

Hi @Sonny Ty, welcome to the community! 👋

Thanks so much for reaching out and for sharing those details. Could you let me know what file format you're working with? And if you're able to share a few sample files, that would be super helpful so we can take a closer look.

Appreciate your help!
