Are images contained in LrC book pdfs read-only/protected from download?

I'm creating pdfs within the book module. I will be sending or posting the pdfs. I want the images within the pdfs to be protected from being individually or batch downloaded. Are they automatically protected or is there some preference I can set to make this so?

I'm in LrC 13.1 on a Windows machine.

There's no practical, effective way to do it.

You can set the PDF's permissions using Adobe Acrobat to prevent copying, editing, or printing:

But those permissions are easily circumvented:
