Question

As Lightroom syncs it’s replacing my photos with different photos from different albums.

I haven't changed anything in my workflow and out of nowhere with this last update,  older photos are being replaced in my imports with random photos. Anything older than a year is being completely scattered throughout my catalog. All the import dates are changing. My entire catalog is being changed with out my doing. Even private shared albums are putting the wrong files which  is a huge privacy issue. I need help. I currently stopped every shared album I have because I can't trust that it's going to send the right photos to the right people. I attached a screen recording to show why my albums are doing.

Does this post have anything to do with LrC?

Loos like Lr Mobil

Perhaps belongs in Lightroom Ecosystem??

@GoldingD

I moved this post here as I think the source of the problem may be Lr Classic sync.  I cannot reproduce the issue with Lr Mobile alone.

Edit:
@ryanb18406462 : does it help to disable and enable sync for your affected collections/albums?

Hello @ryanb18406462
I'm not clear on the problem here.  Is it that you just signed in and the account still doing the initial sync, and assets seem to jump around?  If so, that seems expected as the initial sync and local index that gets built is not loaded in chronological order.  Especially in All Photos view.

You mentioned albums, but your video only shows All Photos and not a specific album.  And so far I cannot reproduce any unexpected loading behavior where the wrong assets are loading into an album unexpectedly.

  • Do you see the same behavior if you sign into your account in the Lightroom Web app, https://lightroom.adobe.com/  ?
  • Are the images initially imported and sync from Lightroom for Mac or Lightroom Classic?
  • If the problem only occurs in the Mobile app, does it help to reinstall the app?
  • If you have an album that shows unexpected images you never actually added, could you enable share for that album, click on my user name here, and send me a private message with your shared album link for investigation?

I initially synced my information from LrC on my Mac. I noticed this happening in my albums to begin with and then went into all photos to see it happening there. I notice that the photos that are replacing my images all seem to come from the same few folders. I attached a screen recording showing it happen in an album. I'll send you a shared album link that the photos have been replaced. I did go into my folders through finder and seen that my originals are still in tact so it's just how my photos are syncing and how they are organized in Lightroom.

I saw your album as a LR Web user (trying Mac web browsers), and see all network requests processing smoothly.  To me this possibly indicates an issue with the app index of your assets from Lr Classic, and not a problem with the image assets themselves.  I cannot reproduce this behavior from your screen captures when building albums using LR iOS alone.

I'm going to move this over to the Lr Classic forum in case other folks there have knowledge/experience with addressing this, and will try from my own Classic app as well.

@ryanb18406462 , what versions of each app are you running?
